I feel like I’ve tried everything.
In VCV Rack there’s a module for receiving and converting OSC messages to CV.
But I can not figure out how to connect it.
Here’s the vcv rack module I’m talking about.
I don’t think anything is wrong with the module, I just don’t understand how I have to set things up in order to work.
I can connect the Mac osc/pilot app with my iPad using the IP address my MacBook is working under with Wifi. But on the same computer I can not seem to connect vcv with osc/pilot
OSC Pilot: setup send to port 7001. Make slider, set name to /ch/1
Trowasoft cvOSCcv main module, leave settings as is, 127.0.0.1 ports 7000 and 7001. Click “enable” which is highlighted in green (counter-intuitive, as when showing, it is disabled)
Hook the output of the right side ‘/ch/1’ to a meter, or module.
Activate OSC Pilot and you will see the connection and communication.
Change the names and ports as you like, just make sure they match. I have had dozens and dozens of sliders working with VCV, its a good fit.
I’ve got it working now, thx.
I’ve had to set the OSC/PILOT project IP to 127.0.0.1 and NOT my machines local IP, which the official documentation says to do.
Also “/ch/1” as it is set by default in trowaSoft cvOSCcv should be the OSC address of the slider in the .plt project file and not the actual name of the slider element.
